Majority of them were from Asia, specifically from the country of Indonesia and Philippines.  The prizes involved for this competition is almost $8,500.00, a cold cash that will be paid to your Paypal account after you can manage to rank on page one of Google in US Data Center: 72.14.207.99. The idea behind this competition is it will be a great opportunity for the host to build a powerful backlink to them that will make their website very important in the eyes of almost all search engine. Contest like this have been very popular because of the benefits it can give to the hosting website. It generates both backlinks and high traffics at the same time which are both important to internet marketers today.

As of today, a lot of search engine optimization (SEO) practicing invidivuals and even companies are joining this big SEO event. They were trying to hit the ‘jackpot!’ Currently, based on my observation, majority of the websites that ranks high on the result pages were all from Indonesia and some from Philippines. Actually, the past few months the SERPs tops rank was dominated by a Filipino SEO practitioner and lately this holiday break, this entry was overtaken by someone from Indonesia.
